Supplements! Do They Really Work?

How do you know which nutritional supplement products actually work without having to try them all? There are hundreds of manufacturers marketing their products on store shelves, on the internet, through medical professionals, and through wholesale distributorships (MLM). All of them state that if you want to stay healthy, you need to take their product.

So what works and what doesn't? How do we know what is best to use?

The answer may seem rather simple. Simply listing the ingredients on the label simply means what nutrients are present. How each nutrient works synergistic ally (together) and is absorbed by the body is critical in evaluating its effectiveness. So how is that possible to understand without trying several different products to see what works and what doesn't?

Ingredients on labels don't really mean a whole lot to the consumer, because most of us don't know the difference anyway. Many doctors don't either. Most medical doctors do not study nutrition in med school. Ingredients are listed because the law says it must be.

A supplement that is in powder form and mixed with a liquid is more likely to be absorbed easier than a pill, capsule or tablet. This is because by the time your body digests a pill or tablet, only around 35 to 40 percent is absorbed. Liquid nutrition doesn't have to be digested. The nutrients are absorbed at a greater rate, therefore providing increased benefit to the body.

Do some research on the manufacturer, and read information on the science behind their production. Marketing & advertising can be misleading, it is only designed to get you to purchase their products.

Ask for referral testimonies. Find out what others are using and ask them how they feel. This form of promotion is considered very beneficial. Word of mouth is very important.
